I have a 16" with a carbine gas system.  Will the DD Omega 9" fit over the front sight if I cut it down??

Thanks,

Jim

You will have to shave it way down, its a pretty snug fit.

Thanks for the replies.  Yes I did have to grind it down pretty far, but it fits in there nice.  I am very happy with the results.

Good job, and great rail.

Would it mess with the integrity of the rail to notch it for the FST?

Probably.

Which is why you shave down the FSB so it fits underneath the rail instead.

Post a pic when you get done. I would like to see how that works/fits

Please post a picture, if you can. I had a local gunsmith cut my FSB down on my carbine to fit the Omega 9. He said it required quite a bit of grinding and shaping. I will get a picture in a day or so.

Sorry it took a few days but here are the pics.  It's not going to win any awards but if you didn't know you wouldn't know, if you know what I mean .

BTW, the empty LaRue mount is waiting for my DMS-1 to return from Bushnell, should be here tomorrow.

That looks good, I thought you were going to send it out. ADCO would have done it for you, and they could have parkerized it over again. They would have made it a lot slimmer too, if you look at the two spots where the FSB is almost touching the rail, all of that material can also be shaved off which will reduce the chance of rail-to-gas block contact.
