I recently asked about Model 1 Sales and found alot of varied opinions. What can you tell me about your experience with Del-Ton as far as quality, fit, finish, durability, etc? Any thoughts appreciated. eseaton |
| It is my understanding that Del-ton buys bolts, bolt carriers (and associated guts), upper flattop receivers from Advanced Ordnance (AO). AO is a prime contractor to FN, supplying bolts, bolt carriers (and associated guts), upper flattop receivers, as well as the large AR15 companies. AO only sells in large numbers. |

I have never had an issue with any parts from Del-ton. I have always been pleased with Del-ton's service, time to ship, and parts quality. My business partner, Matt (SB_Matt), has a AO (from Del-ton) bolt with 8000 (possibly 10,000) rounds on it, but 8000 minimum. |
I have also built Three (3) 16" HBAR kits (I hate the M203 notch on carbines) And they have run perfectly. The bolts are shrouded and are smooth. The only complaint is the triggers have been heavy and gritty. I took care of that with some 600 grit emory cloth and a little spring tweeking. I wish shipping was a little cheaper. I will buy from them again ! Until that day, Darkop |
That's the set-up I've got for my Del-Ton. I bought a Mide-length upper and LPK. The fit between the upper and lower is freakin' FANTASTIC! My other AR stays in the gun rack. |
Haha, that looks exactly like the one I got today. I bought a mid-length from del-ton and went across the room and got a DTI receiver from another vender because they were selling them without the stock. I'm lucky because I see them at most of the big shows in my area. If I need parts I get them from Black Rifle at the Gun Shows.

I've shoot today my Del-tone midle 16" upper on top of Stag lower. First 120 rounds went without the hitch, but after that no ejection. Gas block ( 4rail Picatyny) got loose and mooved forvard about .25" At home I removed it and drilled 2 additional holes and toped 8-32 treads and drilled indentations in the barrel to lock it up. My upper was prety loose with the Stag lower so I had to use the an Aquewedge. As I mentioned functioning was good and on the pinned front site it would not happend. I'm happy any way knowing that I can fix those litle problems. Trigger smoothed out and the barrel looks much bether too. |
