Is this common on DD rails


No, its not common. If you have an out of spec rail, I would suggest contacting DD directly. They are good people and will surely take care of the problem ( if one exists ).

Its the first time I've ever heard of a spec issue on a DD rail.


ETA-  Why doesn't your friend post about the problem?  First hand info is always better than second hand.  What has he attached to the side rails and found to be loose?  Is this something that you were able to duplicate, or is this comments from your friend?
