looking for a descreet 38" soft bag comparable to the leapers Homeland Security case.  apparently that case is backordered all over the place...

Take a look at Tac-Force T.T.S.  I have the 36" version and I love it.  I'm not sure they make a 38", but they do have 36 and 40 if you'd be willing to compromise.  Heres a link TAC-Force TTS

Contact mike at csgunworks.com for excellent pricing.  EDIT: Here's the phone number to Mike @ CSGW: 1-877-288-4137 seems like I paid around $75 shipped for my 36"

will 2 ar15s fit in the 36"? or would the 40" be better?

If you are trying to fit two rifles, you will need atleast the 40".  Also, whichever rifle you plan to put in the secondary pouch will need to be simple, with no scope or vertical grip, and will need to be 16" barrel or less with collapsible stock.  My 16" barrel M4 clone outfitted with GripPod VFG and Millet DMS-1 fills up the 36" quite nicely, and there's definately not room for another gun.  Here's some pics:

well i was thinking one gun in normal and the second gun reversed and upside down, so the barrel from one is where the grip is on the second... thats what i do in my hard case right now..

+1 on the TacForce bags.  I've tried several others and the TacForce can't be beat, especially for the price.

I have a Tac discreet bag.  It's functional but I seriously doubt it's made in the US.  I also have an Eagle discreet bag.  It's a much better case IMO.  SKD has several Eagle Cases in stock.  SKD

I use a soft gutar  case.  I live in a high rise apt building where every one wants to know!

If you want a really discreet bag, grab yourself a softball/baseball bat-bag.

I like the Galati Discreet soft case.  It is well made and durable.  It comes with one 3 magazine pouch that is velcro mounted in an external zippered case pocket but there is room for for one more of those magazine pouches so you can carry up to six 30 round magazines.

These are great bags, I've got one and it's held up really well.

I use a Blackhawk Discreet case.  Quantico Tactical Supply (Quantico Arms) was having a 50% off so I bought 2.

I was looking at all of the aforementioned brands.  Honestly, they all look very much the same - I guess it comes down to durability.  My case came with 3 AR mag pouches (as pictured above) but the other stuff wasn't included.  I am happy with my choice.

I've been using an "Eagle M-16 / AR-15 Discreet Rifle Case".  No complaints here.

Took these real quick... not sure if this is my final set up.... and i just learned that my second gun isnt a .50 beo... it's an LWRC .499...  explain why it wasnt taking the .50 rounds....

that brown rectangle over there is the divider, it velcros down the seem to keep the guns from banging into eachother if they were to touch...

I use a tennis racket bag like THIS for my discrete SBR firearms.  It has 2 seperate compartments w/dividers and plently of padding, but since it's only 30"L, it may not work as well for full size rifles.

I do have one of the 25" Tac-Force cases that works too but is a little more "gun like"..
