| I am looking for a dewey rod for my 6920. Would you guys go with the coated Dewey or the stainless steel version. I am looking for the rod that will not harm my barrel. I am going to use a Lucas bore guide. If there is something better fill me in, but I have looked at the Dewey rods and really like the way they are made. I just can't decide what material will work better for my rifle. |
If its a 6920 the SS rod aint going to HURT your barrel UNLESS you are doing something wrong! Pull is better than Push I use Dew w/ black coating GI Issue OTIS |

For interium cleanings I use a bore snake and CLP - for serious "bore" cleanings; when rifle bore is coppered-in I use: Dewey Rod w/ Ray-Vin bore guide, nylon 223 caliber bore brushes, Sweets 7.62 bore cleaner, SuperTech 2000 carb-cleaner (or any brand non-methanol - for rinsing Sweets away) and CLP for lubing. mike |
You can use a dewy rod for more than one type of rifle. Might as well get the coatted. We all know our last firearm is never our last firearm. |
