I've been looking at upper receivers, some are listed as M4 Feedramps. Can someone explain?

Thanks

I understand there is a difference, but in a building situation, which should I look at? I guess I need to read more... :)

By the way, Osprey's rock! I saw one pick a salmon out of a cove on Isle Royal... awesome!

M4 ramps are more reliable.

I thought that was just for full-auto?

Not necessarily. The M4 extensions are larger for better feeding.

It is also usefull in semi-auto.I have had some worn mags with weak springs that will cause feeding problems in an un ramped rifle but with the deeper M4 ramps the weak spring isnt a factor and those mags will feed fine in my M4 feed ramped uppers.

Of heavy grain bullets as some times the heavier tip will tend to dip down on the feed ramp.

I'm a little bit new to the internals and whatnot like this as well. Does anyone know if the doublestar "m4" has m4 feed ramps?
