Anyone know why dimpled pins went away? Selecters also. Seems like an easy way to take down a rifle with a bullet. 601,602, early 605 carbines had 'em. Why did they change? Manufacturing expense? |
I've never heard that. I've always heard that it was because of the old "can be taken apart by a single bullet" thing.

| 'taken apart by a single bullet' would not be affected by the dimples. The selector dimple is on the side where thr switch has the operating mechanism-cab't push it through the receiver. the push pins also were dimpled on the ''head" side, thus not being able to push through the receiver either. You can use a cartridge today on a flat, non dimpled pin to seperate the upper and lower. |
What about the selector? |
