How often does a dirty chamber cause an issue with an AR?

Does a Chrome Lined chamber need less cleaning?

GI chamber brushes, don't fit std commercial rods. Who makes a commercial one?

Is a .357 brush good enough unstead with some other tool used for the lugs?

You can buy an adapter from Midway or Bushmaster that will connect the GI brush to the commercial rod threads.

I used to just use an old .38 caliber cleaning brush to scrub out the chamber, then wrap it with a patch to swab it out. Similarly, you can clean the lugs with CLP (or other solvent) and a toothbrush, then swab them clean with Q-tips.

Brownells has chamber brushes in both brass and nylon that fit a commercial cleaning rod. They will also have the adapter for GI chamber brushes.
