I over torqued mine trying to fit my malkoff led. now the damn switch won't work.

anyone have any info?

Not sure how you could damage the tailcap switch when replacing the drop-in but pretty much everything is threaded together on Surefire lights and should simply unscrew. To get to the switching mechanism there is likely a threaded retaining ring holding it into the tailcap, unfortunately the mechanism isn't really user serviceable IMO so I would check everything else first -especially the batteries, before pulling it all apart. You could also just call Surefire and see what they say, I have received fantastic service every time I have called them in the past and have heard the same from countless others.

Thanks, but it's definitely the switch. The metal contact plate in it was pushed too far rearward and is OL at all times.

The end cap is not user serviceable.

Have you tried the light with the stock assembly to check it is the switch?
Some aftermarket dropins require a spacer for use in shock isolated bezels.
