I'm looking for a discreet M4 case that will conceal an M4 styled rifle with the upper/lower broken down and a few mags. I've seen a few discreet cases but they are $100+ dollars.
Is there something out there (even if not designed specifically for it), significantly cheaper, that would accomplish the job? It need not be "battle hardened." Thanks- |

This is what I use. Perfect size.
I also have a Larue covert. Great bag, but more money. Bucket boss |

Here is something that "might" work. It looks like it might be a little short for a 16" upper.
Check out this cool bag |

Ask and ye shall recieve. Not the best pics, but they give you an idea of the bag. First the carbine it houses, 14.5 with permed MB next to the case. http://i311.photobucket.com/albums/kk462/Tonecod/discreetcase003.jpg Eotech in one of the covered side pockets. http://i311.photobucket.com/albums/kk462/Tonecod/discreetcase005.jpg Gun broken down in case, might be a tight fit for a 16". Notice the sling, mag, and scope do not have to be removed. You can even leave the push pins out. The divider is a big plus. http://i311.photobucket.com/albums/kk462/Tonecod/discreetcase004.jpg Carbine in case. You'd never think it was a weapon, right? http://i311.photobucket.com/albums/kk462/Tonecod/discreetcase012.jpg Overall a touch bigger than it needs to be, but it serves the purpose. You can get three mags in each outside pocket. The inside has pockets for tools, too small to be used for most gun related gear. The inside is cavernous, plenty of room for ammo, hearing protection, pretty much what you need for some fun at the range. You could probably fit two broken down ARs in, if you don't care about them banging into each other. Give me a second................... Yep, two http://i311.photobucket.com/albums/kk462/Tonecod/discreetcase.jpg Thanks for the pics. That's an awesome setup, and that case is cheap. I might seriously have to pick that up. |

There goes my discreet case. Don't too many guys get 'em!
Maybe Mark Larue sends me a covert case and I take the pics down. Kidding aside, this is a nice bag, but if you want something with more protection and less bulk, the Larue is the best. Wish I could afford one for all my ARs. ETA- Guys, I forgot to mention my shoulder strap broke on the first day of use. (the bucket boss, not the Larue) No big deal for me, but others may care. I just use the handles FWIW I use another model for my tools, and the strap has been fine. |

You can get it for a few bucks less from Amazon (free shipping), but Coastal Tools has a great special going on a smaller gatemouth bag and a bucket organizer for $10. |

80sgyrene,
How long is your upper? The inside dimension of the bag is given as 24" and my 16" upper measures 25" overall. I really like this idea and will probably buy one to try anyway. I would just feel better knowing everything will fit before I lay down my hard earned ca$h. |
