[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Dissipator Build

I've always wanted a dissipator style rifle and have finally rounded up all of the necessary parts. I wanted to share the build and get some opinions on optics and stock. Currently I'm looking at either a CAR stock or LMT/B5 SOPMOD stock. For optics I'm thinking an ACOG TA31F. Let me know what you guys think.

Anyway here it is not quite built out yet.

Specs:
* Spikes complete dissipator upper (chose this for their quality and pinned lopro gas block)
* AAC 51t brakeout
* Lonestar Ordnance Stowaway 2 pistol grip
* KAC M5 RAS
* KAC micro rear sight
* Spikes spartan lower
* Daniel Defense trigger group
* ADCO White Oak Armament LPK less FCG
* Spikes buffer tube stock kit including T2 buffer
* Battle Arms Development buffer tube (didn't want the silver looking Spikes buffer tube and this one was in the parts bin)

One thing I would do is sent the barrel off to Retro Arms Works and get the barrel cut and crowned and front muzzle device pinned just were it leaves the FSB. A true 16" barrel

ETA: That would also curtail bobbing the bayonet lug.

Very similar to mine, although I'm using an A2 carry handle upper and a SOPMOD stock.

spikes uses middy gas right? i think thats what my dissi is and its a middy and i ended up using a vltor a5 buffer set up with the H weighted buffer. it was a little smoother than he carbine buffer.

That looks awesome! I'll have to consider that when I decide what muzzle device to leave on it. I wish I had gone with a can that would accept a more traditional flash hider but I went with AAC so I'm stuck with what they offer.
