It doesn't look like this any more.  I took the barrel off for threading.  When it comes back it's going into a flat-top and getting a YHM customizable free float tube, and a Phantom flash hider installed.

bdog, where did you get your carry handle mount? I like it, and I'm looking for one like that.
can you see the iron sights nicely?

Here's my A2 Stag lower/Bushmaster Dissipator 16" bull.

Haven't decided on whether to switch to a flattop upper (I've got no tools or workspace) or to keep the Carry handle upper and get a mount with a Burris Fastfire holo reddot.

This cost me $640.00 all in.

I'm also thinking of getting a sully stock...

Hey doc... What handguard is that, was it easy to install, and does that EOtech Cowitness at all?

As I stated, I'm trying to avoid swapping uppers, want to get a reddot mounted low.
Or, is it not worth it, hence you're swapping out to a flattop?

They are YHM 2 peice non-freefloat handguards.  They mounted super easy and nice and tight.  The Holosight cowitnessed right in the middle of the window.  I used it in some multigun matches and it did quite nicley.  No shots were over 75 yds in the competitions though, so it held zero well enough to make chest shots on silhouette targets and nail gongs.  I am changing to a free float to make sure it will hold zero better to 100yds and more though.

I just sold the handguards last week on the EE to finance the Freefloat rails.

Fly,
Does the FSB interfere with the scope much or hamper your field of view?  I am looking at gas block options when I get my barrel back.  Sometimes I will run a Holosight and BUIS and others I will run a scope.  I'm just curious if I should look and a folding sight gas block or railed gas block or just leave the A2 FSB.

WAY old school!!!  It was my 'Y2K' set-up.

I've now decided to make the little rifle more like it was when I first bought it...a versatile carbine.
I'm having the standard forend and A2 FS put back on.
Adding the Magpul bent triggerguard; Ranger floorplates and followers to 3 new magazines.
KNS hooded crosshair front sight ( I was told it was a little off-center, too...I couldn't see it! )
Putting on a Tac-Latch, just because.
I also added one of the extra mag pouches to the buttstock.
Sent for the 'clip-on' forend flashlight holder from Bushmaster ( works with Streamlight 15/16" from what I gather ).
I'll get some pix when it's done.

I LOVE the Dissipator Carbine.

Nope, the scope is a 6-24, and you can see a tad bit of fuzziness on 6x.  Zoom in even a little and it goes away.  Thats why I've never bothered to yank off the front sight.  If my scope was a 3-9x, i'd look into a folding front sight.

its like tricking out a car, or why girls "accessorize" with clothing, or why surfers get designs on their boards, or why people get tatoos.  The only difference in all of those is not the why, its the what.  The ar-15 crowd does their guns, and at least now we can say that if anyone ever invaded america full out that the civilian population would fight back, and look cool doing it!

20" 1/7 twist rifle barrel chopped to 16.5".  Very light and easy to handle setup.  This is an older version.  I have a newer, unfired upper I just built and haven't shot yet.

Mongo,  did you do anything to the gas port to make that one run.  You said rifle barrels so I'm assuming it's a rifle gas system, no?

Old School KISS. All Bushmaster except grip & bipod. M4 barrel under the handguards.

I am normally one to frown upon posting things like "Thats abeautiful rifle!" in response to pic threads, but for some reason, Mongo, your rifle finally triggered somthing inside me that compels me to comment, that is one hell of a nice looking rifle.

You did a great job with that beast.

Now I want one too.....dammit....

This Dizzy is what I call my 'minimalist' battle rifle. She comes only as the good Lord made her, ready to perform flawlessly if SHTF. Nothing overly tacticool about her, but absolutely nothing technical to break down, run out of battery power, fall off, or not work when the time comes. I've since added a SAW pistol grip and a rubber M4 stock buttpad - but that is all she is getting tricked out with. The Dizzies are such fine rifles as is, I just don't see alot of sense in adding anything to them - especially with that exceptionally heavy front end.

Forgot about this thread... it's an A.R.M.S.® #39A2™ Plus Mount. It works great and is solid, but I can't see the sites through the Meprolight, it too tall, but it works good with other sites.

Thank you BusMaster007. That photo is from late last year. I've since mounted a front USGI side sling attachment & the original sling loop is gone. The bipod is only mounted for the range & is easily put on & taken off.  The A1 stock works well with this setup and I plan to leave it this way.
