Who makes a dissipator upper with a flat top? I love the look and feel, but I'd like to put optics on it, and still have the extended sight radius with my BUIS.

Bushmaster's Dissy is available with A1, A2, of Flat top receiver.

It says that it has a car-length gas system... I thought with the gas block being all the way to the front that it would be a mid or rifle length gas tube.

Nope, up front its just a front sight block, there is a gas block back down the barrel towards the receiver, where a carbine's gas block would be.

Bushy's always had the gas block in the carbine position if I remember correctly.

CMMG has Dissipator-type models with carbine, mid and rifle length gas systems.
