[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Do I have the wrong FSB?

Ok...Flat top M-4 profile receiver/barrel.

Best I can get it adjusted is about 3 inches high at 50 yards. I cannot find a F on the FSB. Windage is OK.

I guess my question is there enough deference in the FSB's to account for this or do I have a Fubared barrel/install/other issues?

Sounds like the FSB is not an "F". You can either change the FSB or get a taller FS post to compensate. I have seen them for a couple of bucks. Do not have a link handy. Maybe someone else can give a link.

The assumption is that you have already adjusted the front sight up to it's fullest extent???

Yes, you have the wrong FSB. No, don't change it.

Just buy the taller front sight post. It is a cheap part and an easy job to replace it.

No big deal.

Do these taller sight posts still stay below the front sight protector wings?

The taller posts are only .040 longer than a standard post.

If you have to get a front post that is taller than the ear of the FSB, you have something else wrong that just a short FSB.
