This is the date code on PMags. This one was manufactured in July of 2012

Quoted:
Doesn't matter except to preban states. Manufacturing will cease if they are banned, so anything made will be pre-2nd-ban. I assume they'd still make them for enforcement / military use if they had enough business, and probably still be date stamped in addition to having the LE/MIL only type stamp.

I think they manufacture for more than just civilians, so I'd have to say this info will be incorrect. Unless they were to refuse to make them for MIL/LE and tell them to pound sand. I know, I'm grasping at something that wouldn't happen. |
| The date stamp is more for quality control than for anything else. Say someone gets an order of mags, has several physical failures, and contacts Magpul. Magpul can then check QC records and see if it was a bad product batch. If a bad batch, they could do a possible recall on products. We do this at work on some of our products. Never know when you may get a bad/incorrectly mixed batch of plastic pellet material. |
