ever wear out?
I can see an upper eventually wearing out because of all the movement of the bolt, etc. But in a lower everything can be replaced as it wears and the stripped lower should remain the same. Right? I don't see any hard contact points except the magazine well which if plastic magazines are used should remain like new. The trigger group rotate around the pins not the pins rotating in their holes. Maybe the safety selector? Just asking. |
| I have a very old lower that was a police issue host for an DIAS. The hammer pin hole is worn, rather significantly. To the point where if you cycle the gun about 5 times, the hammer pin walks out. So this is a potential weak point in AR15s, however is now easily remidied via non-rotating pins, which stop wear on the pin holes. However, remember this is on a 20+ year old lower, that had significant full auto fire put through it. Will it happen in a semi? Probably not. I still use KNS non-rotating pins in my builds anyway. |
