| Just wondering if there is a reason why military prefers drop -in handguards. Maybe not prefers but it seems like most issued AR you see is not wearing a free float. When more accurate shot placement is needed are free floats used? Just wondering. |

Millions of good guys have killed millions of bad guys with guns that are not free floated. The drop in rails are tough, durable, and easy to maintain. They can be installed or removed in the field with no tools. And I'm sure the government sees them as less expensive. |
