Is there any modern (i.e. in the past couple years) comparison or list of drop in carbine rails? Tried searching the past couple days, but haven't found much in the way of direct comparisons. Considering my options for a 10 inch pistol build. Originally was going to do stock handguards with a bolt on light mount, but just want to look at anything available. Not interested in the Magpul polymer rail. My priorities of features are lightweight, low cost, and stable.

DD Omega rail is probably the slimmest width drop in with a delta ring still installed.

ETA: not cheap brand new though.

Like the RAS mentioned below, Midwest Industries has an affordable drop in rail as well. But I believe most of these quad rails have the same outside width.

I vote KAC RAS. Compared to most other options, it's cheap, light, and near bombproof.

Thanks gentlemen. I was already heavily leaning towards a KAC RAS, but still wanted to see what the common consensus is.

The KAC RAS as mentioned above is a great rail.  Little heavier than some, but lock up is solid.

Troy also makes several drop in rails both Quad and Tubular.  These will be lighter, but the mount will not be as tight or solid as the RAS.

DD Omega is the bee's knees.  It's lighter than the RAS, locks up just as tight, but costs nearly twice as much new and in some cases used.  But it's a great rail.

Other rails that can be mounted on the stock barrel nut (use dremel to remove the delta ring, spring, and snap ring) is the Centurion C4, Fortis REV, Midwest Industries Gen2 2-piece free float , and several offerings from Samson.

There are a LOT of choices.

Another vote for the Omega. There are a few in the EE. Locks up very tight and free floats the barrel which the RAS doesn't do.

Look for a used DD Omega rail.  Super solid lock up and feather weight.  You won't be disappointed.
