Hey I was thinking about buying a Velocity 3lb trigger for my AR.

I have ALG QMS for it which is nice but still pretty heavy;  since I've currently got the lower disassembled and Duracoat drying on it for the next 4 weeks, was thinking about a new lighter trigger.

Question is, as this was an 80% lower, what are thoughts on possibility of the holes all not lining up just right (the holes in the trigger unit with the holes in the lower)?

I am thinking I should be ok since the QMS trigger worked just fine; if the lower was drilled sufficiently accurately to work with the QMS, I am thinking everything must be pretty much OK.

Anyone have any different experiences or thoughts?

Thanks.

I've put 2 Velocity triggers in 2 different 80% lowers that I finished with no problems. Pins slid right in.

Tactical Machining lowers with 80% Arms Easy Jig.

Cool, out of curiosity any issues with the Velocity? I heard some stories of them coming from the factory and going full auto at the range.

Also wondering if any issues with light primer strikes or any of that?

Interesting, just found this notice from a vendor on slickguns:

Description:

DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS WITH THIS PRODUCT WE WILL NO LONGER CARRY VELOCITY TRIGGERS. THE SAFETY CONCERN HAS TO DO WITH THE HAMMER SLIPPING AND THE WEAPON FIRING WITHOUT PULLING THE TRIGGER, WITH LIGHTS AMOUNT OF FORCE ON THE LOWER RECEIVER "FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU DROP THE FIREARM" ALSO TRIGGER HAS A TENDENCY TO FIRE THREE - FIVE ROUND BURSTS WHEN SET SCREWS ARE NOT TIGHTENED WHICH IS A MAJOR VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW. PLEASE SEE OUR OTHER TRIGGER OPTIONS WE HAVE AVAILABLE THAT DO NOT HAVE THIS FLAW IN DESIGN. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

I've never had any of those issues but if they are true I'll never buy another one unless they would admit to a problem and cure it.

I guess I am back to what I got excited about in the first place, the Brownells B-G2S-E 2 stage....

May I suggest that you look at the CMC single and two-stage drop-in triggers. They are very well built, have been around for 20 yrs or so, and have a very crisp break and reset. The total trigger travel is very short with no discernable overtravel. I have been using them for most of my ARs for awhile and really like them a lot.

What's your budget?

Want to keep it in the $150 range... the Brownells one is a bit north of that but it seems a really good trigger for the $ so I can see spending $170 on a Geissele trigger. Certainly under $200 for sure.

Hiperfire EDT w/the 4.5lb spring for $89.

If you could get an amazing drop in trigger that is roughly 279.99 for 209.99 shipped, would you jump on that?

If your willing to wait a bit you could order an MBT for $125 and it will show up in 8 to 12 weeks.

Hotlink to complaint on slickguns: https://www.slickguns.com/product/velocity-ar15-ar10-3lb-drop-trigger-12995-shipped

I emailed someone I know who is closely connected to Velocity Triggers about this. His response was that this slander against the product from a disgruntled vendor who violated his agreement with Velocity and lost his dealership. He also stated that any problems that had arisen with Velocity triggers were from incorrect installation, not from the product itself.
