In general I know it's not goo to dry fire but did I read on here that it's ok to do on an AR?

Thanks!

It's fine.

Thanks, I think I even read once that you should do it on your AR as a "warm up" prior to shooting.

Dry firing is part of doing a function test after you put your rifle back together. Just don't do it when the upper isn't pinned onto your lower.

Dry firing is a major part of a good training regime. I am 2 minutes from my 360 degree 260 yard range but for every
shot fired live, I have dry fired a hundred.

The floating firing pin in the AR platform is harder than kriptonite and wont be damaged one little bit by dry firing. Dry fire
dry fire, dry fire.

Now a rimfire is a different story, don't dry fire them!

Until that day,
