I have opportunity to pick up a Rock River Arms LAR-8 lower for a great price but I'm concerned with mating an upper.  Can any of you with Rock River lowers and Brand-X uppers share your experiences?

Thanks,
Brian

EDIT: To clarify I'm mostly looking for insight what fits and what doesn't.

Nevermind, I realize now what you are talking about.

I believe and I may be wrong, but doesn't RRA say that the LAR-8 lower can only use a LAR upper?

ETA - found an old post where Steve with RRA made a reply to someone asking the same sort of question

Does anyone know if a POF .308 upper will play nice with a RRA LAR-8 lower?
While I'm at it, is any kind of special machining done to the LAR-8's upper parts to accomodate the use of FAL mags? I read from Armalite that, in order to use FAL mags in an AR, the lower section that the feed ramp, some of the chamber and therefore the bolt all have to be modified. If this is true, it seems like a POF upper wouldn't feed correctly even if the upper fit onto the lower.

Any info would be appreciated as I live in NY State and would love to have a gas piston gun that I could legally obtain hi-caps mags for.

The only uppers that I am aware of that will be/are compatible with the LAR-8 are those made from our design for the Bushmaster BAR-10/BM-308.
The entire rifle is diferent in many ways from our LAR-15 models. When the Armalite owner posted those remarks, he was referring to his .308 caliber platform, not ours.
Thanks.

Thanks for the response.  I recall seeing that on the RRA site and I called a friend that told me the same.  Thanks again!
