I have not heard much about the spector (by elcan), they were highly recomended by some guys I was talking to. Basicaly I would like to hear any comments from you guys. Thank you.

Have had some experience with Elcan.  None of it good.  YMMV...

The Elcan is one of the higher quality optics available. Better than most people realise. Biggest complaints are price $$$, top heavy on a carry handle AR (flat-top mounting has about perfect balance), and hard to get customer service/availability.

thanks for the info....I think its all based on $$ and personal preference.  some guys on shooting teams tell me trijicon is trash and to go with elcan but obviously thats not what the majority of people here say. Any one else with an opinion.

The only real complains I've read from 'users' is the mount, but Gen 4 mount is the cure?
I like mine a lot (Flat top), but $$$ (although here on EE I've seen they go for as low as $400).
I've had mine 10+ years  and tritium is still going strong. BTW last quote I got was $100 USD to re-place it (tritium) shipped to Canada, but I've hear they will no longer do that?
