Hey there.  I've got a 3 year old EOTech 511 and I've just noticed some sort of "spider webbing" around the perimeter of the rear glass.  Looks kinda like the coating on the glass failing or something like that.  The rifle and sight have been used very little, but they have been stored in a temperature and humidity controlled environment.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

POOR EOTECH

I would call the company and see if they can fix it!
Or sell it and buy a AIMPOINT wich are a BIT better and come with a 10year warranty

Ok, EOTech has gotten in touch with me and they say my problem is "unusual".  I'm sending it in to have them take a look and I'll post  the results as soon as it gets back.
I just figure those of you out there with EOTechs might be interested if it's something preventable...

EOTech does often fix or replace units outside the 2 year warranty. IMO, the 2 year warranty is in place to protect themselves from people who abuse the shit out of their optics, break them in a stupid manner and or scam artists.

Hi again,
Well, my EOTech is back in my hands and looking good!  At first I thought it might be a new unit as it was shipped in a new box with all new accessories including new batteries.  They even put a new battery compartment on it (there was nothing wrong with the old one, but it was an old company logo) and they installed a new style curved door latch. ;)  I reinstalled my GG&G flip up covers, bore sighted it and I am good to go.  Two thumbs up for EOTech customer service!!

p.s.  They didn't give me and explaination for the problem, so I figure it must have been a rare defect.
