I'm using an EOTech 552.A65 and an EOTech 3x mag with FTS mount. I've had 2 different FTS mounts with the same result, the 3rd is on it's way... With each flip, the reticle will never hold center in mag. I know this doesn't affect accuracy but It's pretty annoying, especially for the amount $pent After I zero, it will usually be about 1/8" to 1/4" off to the right on the next flip. If I flip it hard enough it will go to the center sometimes but if I flip it too hard it will be about an 1/8" to 1/4" off to the left. what the hell? I understand EOTech must have some sort of problem with there FTS mount because my first one broke by the regular bolt stripping out of the frame. The next one had a defective A.R.M.S lever which fell apart while in my gun bag. So my 3rd mount is on the way, I hope it fixes the alignment issue but I'm almost positive it won't since the first 2 mounts did the same thing as far as the alignment goes. Is anyone else experiencing this alignment issue? I feel like it might be a smart move to get an aimpoint magnifier with a Larue mount about right now, but I can't wrap my brain around the fact that EOTech would release a product that performs like this with their reputation. Am I having a really bad stroke of bad luck or is this a known issue with the factory FTS mount which is a 'Samson QuickFlip' mount ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On another note, The AR industry as a whole kinda seems shotty to me so far. I recently got into black rifles about a yr ago, maybe little more but here are the defective parts I have had to return so far... Vltor Mur-1 Upper Reciever: Was out of spec, BCG and lower would not fit Vltor took excellent care of me! Olympic Arms Rifle: 1/8"+ gap between upper/lower recievers. Bolt will not come out of BCG as removing the cam pin is blocked by the bolt key. It's never been removed for cleaning because of this, Oly arms say's it's my problem now... Bobro VFG: The plastic shaft has broke free inside the aluminum base and now the shaft of the VFG will spin free inside the base. I emailed and left voice message at Bobro with no luck, just ignoring me even though it's a known issue GG&G quick flip front sight: It moves to the left and right about 1/32" which makes it very unaccurate at long ranges. Sent it back and they tightened some screws, it still does it though! bastards were rude too. RaineerArms Magpul Grip things: I bought the full kit and got the basic kit 2 times, I called and they have the best customer service I have ever encountered; next to Vltor :) RRA Rifle: Something was up with the chamber of the barrel where it would keep jamming unfired rounds in the chamber about 1/50 shots, having to use a soft mallet and brass punch to tap it out. All other methods failed as it was a tight fit in there. Even with Match ammo. I just sold the upper and built a new 1.... Then the EOTech problems. All this in a year, shitty luck or what? |

EOTech does have kick ass customer service though. I sent them my defective mount last Thursday and it has already arrived today per UPS. I'm stoked about that! I will give an update to rather or not this one will hold zero... EOTech isn't to blame for the mount either, they've contracted with Samson on that. I hope Larue will make a FTS mount for this EOTech mag sometime soon though... Please Larue! |
I hardly use the magnifier and especially don't use it at close range; there is eye relief on the mag vs. having the fastest sight available... Only reason I run an EOtech is because it's the fastest sight you can get to date. The magnifier is just for those 100yd+ shot's that I only take when I'm deer/varmit hunting. The problem isn't that bad, it's just annoying thing to happen with this much money spent on a optics system. The fixed mount isn't an option for me... must have a FTS, probably gonna get an aimpoint mag with larue FTS mount |
| I use the older style Eotech N Type with the 3x FTS magnifier and found that when viewed through the magnifier the aiming circle is off to the right a bit. IT doesn't bother me because at a shooting competition 3 weeks ago I was slaying the 300M targets. We were doing a maximum round count count for points in a 1 minute time frame. I beat out almost all the Trijicons on the line that day. I have been able to deal with a little offset to the right for the performance I have gained. I agree for what you put into it that it should be right on point. It would be disturbing to me to if the aiming circle kept moving after the flip and then have to re-adjust your cheek to stock to get the right sight alignment for you. As for me - its only to the right. Good luck. |
if it's only to the right then adjust it bro. You can align the reticle perfectly center with the little flat head screws, view the instructions... My only probelm is that once I get it centered, the reticle will not stay centered. But you should know it is adjustable; you can fix your problem |
