Putting together my first AR-15. It will be an A4 type carbine, intended for a SHTF urban scenario. I intend to put an EOTech on it.  What are some model factors/features that I should consider for the urban SHTF environment?  Anyone have Iraq type experiences that may guide choices here? Opinions?  I should note that I have no AR-15 experiences nor battle experiences.  I would like to know the types of features that are good, what works, etc., for said scenarios.

Thank you for your input.

I went with the 512 because it was the least expensive, it uses AA batteries which are cheaper and easier to find. It also isn't NV compatible, and since I have no need to use it with night vision why spend the extra money?

I would put some time in with the irons 1st, get to know the gun well..then go for the optics. After that I would go with the 512 or look to an aimpoint. Its all in what you feel is right for you.I would try both before you set your mind to one optic.
