I have an EOTech 511 mounted on a rail that is screwed on to my M4 handguards. I was trying to zero it at 100yd and even with the elevation cranked all the way down I had to aim at the bottom of a B-27 human sillouette just to hit the the very top of the target. I cannot co-witness with my iron sights the way I have it mounted. Does this mean that I just have the sight mouted to high to get a proper zero? Could it possibly be defective? Does anybody have suggestions for a better mount?

Mount the EOTech DIRECTLY onto your flattop and then give it a try...

Not sure of the maker, I bought the the rail when I bought the EOTech. It screws in through the vent holes in the the top of the handguard. The handguards are USGI M4s
with the double heatshields. There is a little bit of movement in the guards.

I'am gonna try a new mount like the Bennie Cooley or the A.R.M.S. 39 and see what happens. Hope fully it'll shoot right then. Thanks for the help guys.

Don't use the ARMS #39, it won't work! The CRTC BC-CAM will work for you...

Thanks for the info/warning C4. I'll take a look at the B-Cam. If it turns out that the my EOTech is broken how think EOTech will be about fixing it?

Eotech is very good about repairing thier products.

They repaired mine in under 2 weeks including shipping time.

Call them and get a service number, then you can send it in for repairs.

but it sounds to me like your Eotech is mounted at an angle facing down inrelation to the gun, and you need a mount that parallel to the barrel for the sight to function properly.

JP,

Grant is correct, the ARMS #39 will not co-witness with EOTech, your best bet is BC CAM as you have mentioned, or Precision Reflex.

Timanator I think your right! My dumbass just noticed that the handguards taper toward the end of the barrel and the rail I had was not formed to compensate for this. I ordered a BC-CAM and hope to see it soon. Thanks you all for your advice and thanks for the pics Mr. Lee.
