I was always under the impression that as my EOTech batteries were going down, that it would flash different levels of brighness to indicate that the batteries needed replacement.  Yesterday, while at the range, my EOTech would just shut off after being on for about 5 to 10 seconds.  Is this normal behavior when the batteries are going down?  I ask because this is the first time I never saw the high/low flashing to indicate that the batteries needed replacing.

FWIW, I replaced the batteries, and all was well after that.  The unit in question is a EOTech 551 Revision F.  On a final note, I am glad I buy several packs of N batteries at one time!

What type of batteries were in them?
It normally flashes but if it's really low it will just shut off.

They should flash, but it could be the batteries.

I was/am using good old fashioned Energizer N batteries.  That is why I always buy 6 pair at a time  I am starting to think that the last person who shot it did not turn it off as he said he did, therefore that is what put me below the high/low flash battery life indicator.  I know I should always double check to see what someone says about my rifle, but he should have known better since he is a LEO and in the National Guard.
