I went to my local gunstore today, and was checking out some scopes, and really wanted to look at the eotech, and when i got my hands on it i wasn't impressed.  The aim point and sighting ring didn't look clear at all.  I was then handed a bushnell trophy series rifle scope, and that had a really clear display, and had green and red sighting dots (i hope the green is NVG compatible) , all in all i wasn't impressed with the EO tech, but liked the bushnell, anyone else compared these two, the search didn't come up with much.  here is the bushnell Bushnell

Bushnell

Is a closer comparison for the eotech. What your looking at is a acog? or aimpoint style... I get the two mixed up.

the bushnells arent nvg compatable. The eotechs are awesome, all the electronics are incased in resin. The bushnell was kind of like the grand father to the eotech.

I'm sure NVG is nice but honestly just HOW many people on here not only OWN NVG but actually use it at night to shoot?

The number is so small that it's meaningless to worry about it.

my biggest complaint about the eotech was the fuzzy display, it was teh same on the bushnell version of the holosight, mabe its just my eyes.

its apple to oranges. The eotech is built like a brick shit house. The bushnell isn't comparable from the durability standpoint.

I don't deny that, but a strong shithouse doesn't mean crap if the toilet seat is broken.  I am a army aviatior and civilain pilot, so my eyes are pretty good, but i decided to put my glasses on and my aimpoint dots looked better.  If its my eyes that are making the display look bad, then i recomend the bushnell trophy sight over the eotech for people with eye issues, because without any glasses that display was perfectly clear.

IIRC the Bushnell Holosight is just an EOTech 510.
I'm going to avoid the EOTech due to complaints about fuzzy reticles. It sounds like the clarity of the holographic projection is more dependent on the eye than a regular red-dot or scope.

damn what do you want? an etched glass reticle or something, it's a close combat bodies piled on top of one another 4 feet from you and your barrel is over heating kinda sight.

like i said mabe its my eyes, but the eotech, the bushnell version of it were fuzzy, but the other busnell was clear as day.  If its an eye thing, then i'm saying that some might wana check out the other one if they too have bad eyes.  Personally a sight is for more than close combat situations, if i'm going n to clear a room, a 4 foot shot needs no sight, just the front sight post center mass. Just wonderin if i'm the only one that has issues with teh clarity of the eotech.

When you look thru the EoTech, focus on the distance, not the reticle and it will appear much better.

Exactly.  If you focus on the reticle it will look very fuzzy.  If you focus on the target you will notice that the reticle is nice and clear.  Look through it again with both eyes open while focusing on something down range.

i'll give that a try, mabe it was just being indoors that gave me the issue, tahnks for the help guys.

Almost make sure you have your glasses on (correcting to 20/20).

Try the EOTech in outdoor lighting conditions.  In indoor/low light the reticle can be fuzzy but you're also not trying to place 300 yard shots.

Granted, my Bushnell Holosight is one of the older ones out there, but it has held up just fine with extensive use.  I am not a combat shooter, but I am clumsy, so the Holosight has been drop- and durability tested for years in my own right, and has come out just fine.  I used to think that EOTechs were crap and Aimpoint was king.  Then I won an EOTech.  So much easier on my eyes (astigmatism) that I sold all my Aimpoints and switched to EOTechs.

If you're just a recreational shooter, even a hard core recreational shooter, a Bushnell will serve you just fine, even though it lacks NVG settings or a roll cage.  The EOTech does look cooler, though.

EoTech makes the Bushnell Holosight.
