I have a new EOtech 511 and I ordered the GG&G lens cover.  I was planning on putting the GG&G lens cover on my EOtech, but I noticed in the EOtech instructions - it says if you remove the EOtech cover, you will void the warranty.  Should I not take the cover off - to install the GG&G lens cover?

This issue has been raised before, and the uninformed concensus was that EoTech wouldn't void the warranty if the roll bar was removed for lens cover installation.  The fact that GG&G sells an EoTech package with the Accucam AND their lens covers pre-installed on the EoTEch would indicate that EoTech folks wouldn't fuss on a warranty issue because of the lens cover installation.  Wishful thinking?  Its all we've got.

Taking off the cover won't hurt anything will it?

I have the 552 and assume your model is mechanically the same.  The simple answer is no, it wont hurt anything.  The only issue was that the screws holding the cover had been secured with Loctite and were a challenge to get loosened.  Also, the GGG cover assembly only goes on one way––that is there is a front cover and back cover and if you get 'em reversed the thing wont go back together.  Don't ask how I know.  Shouldn't take more than ten minutes for the whole project.
