I just bought a nib (ended up being open and lightly used) eotech 553 and Im worried because someone at work told me about some early black models being defunct (coming loose or losing zero) I was wondering when they got the problem fixed and if I should return it or not. The box is dated (inspected) september 28 2006. Gonna try it this weekend to see but its good to know what others think. |

The issue is that some people have issues with ARMS mounts in general. Negative reports on ARMS mounts are sporadic at best and most people here just tend to repeat crap they have heard others talk about. " I heard this" "my brother's friend saw that" etc. Try it out. It should be fine and I have not heard of any specific problems with any of the EoTech models. ETA: I had an early model 553 that worked without problems. I sold it as I felt it to be a little too big. I now have a 512 and love it. |
| yes true on some accounts except. giving real time feed back to them on an all most daily basis i can tell you this on 8 different uppers the 553 front arms lever comes loose after 2 -3 magazines. of use every single time............. from colt to rra to dd to larue etc it happens on every one that i have tried and shot so far and my personal 553 current test is to see how long beofre it self explodes like my M1A rings did from arms......... |
