Hello all ...  A question hopefully someone can answer ...   I am looking for some reference that states the color of the vietnam era magazines ... They appear to start off a grey in color and then wear down to bare metal ( steel ?? ) ...  An odd question but can someone help or provide insight ?

They were anodzied gray, rubbing wear will cause the gray to come off and they will typically show a golden bronze color, enough wear after taht will look like plain aluminum.

That's not anodizing, it's protective dirt.
