I just installed a Rock River Arms ejection port on my Mega Stripped Upper Billet. I got it all installed correctly, it closes and it has the resistance like it should but when i close it, I use ALOT of force with my fingers to open the port cover back up but I can't. So I use a knife to go inside to hit the detent spring on the port cover to get it unlatched and that works. So do I have a out of spec port cover for my Mega upper? because it's always been super easy for my to just push outside with my finger to open the port cover, but it won't open unless I go inside and push the latching mechanism in order to get the port cover to open up. Do I have a fucked up port cover or will it open up when I actually fire the gun? or should I get a new port cover? |
| Had similar issues with mine when I first installed it. I dropped some clp in the detent of the port cover and worked it about 30 times until I wore through the upper's anodizing with the detent. FWIW, I had to use the back side of a punch to smack mine closed and then to smack it open from the inside too. It was so stiff I couldn't close or open it with my fingers. |
