Anyone here ever used an Elcan on their M4?  Is it better than the Acog, the same, or what?  Do y'all have any pics of what it looks like on your gun?  I did a search and couldn't find anything on the subject.

Mine is the bottom one...

Some of our guys use the Elcan on the C8's but you would not catch me doing it.  I think that the TA31 series is a much better scope than the ELCAN's

I have both a 'tritium post' model and a battery powered model, and I love them both. You don't get BAC, so the only ACOG it would compare to would be the TA01, and the 'backup' sights on top of the Elcans are a sick joke, but the glass more than makes up for it. Bright, crisp, wide field of vision, generous with the eye placement...much to recommend them, IMO.

Neat stuff, but it's of the 'old school'. Twice as heavy as a TA11, no BAC, an inferior (IMO) mount design that took 4 generations to get right. Like I said, I love mine, but I don't know that I would recommend someone go out and buy one when you could get a TAO1 for a LOT cheaper (assuming both are new), or a TA11/31 for the same price.

ETA:
I don't have a pic of the M4, but here's the FN with the tritium post model:
