They list the DR on thier website with a small picture. It looks different from the ones I have seen pictures of to this point. Plus they list the dot as 1.5 minutes at 1X. It also has the BU sight on tip at one side from what I can see in the small pic. Is this the new one coming out or a previous one or,,?? I like THIS one better than what I have seen to this point. Elcan website IF thats the NEW one which one of the several reputable dealers here can I go ahead and do a dposit and get on the early list for a BLACK one?? I got a CC in my sweaty hand just begging to be abused. |

What a sweet looking piece of kit, WES. Is the DR shown in the link a newer model or a preproduction model? The nobs/levers look different. In addition to the canted BUIS, it looks like it has provisions to mount a Doc Optic mini redot on top. Or maybe I'm just crazy.

| The updated model will come in Earth tone. I herd a rumor the Doc optic was spose to come with it. At least I saw a pic with on mounted on there so if it doesnt come with one you will be able to mount one. Its spose to have a couple new features on it from the first model. Can't wait to see them. Only down side will be the price is going up on it. Not that it was to cheap in the first place. |

I thought the levers looked like they were on the other side as well along with ONE BUIS on the side. The specs list the color as "dark green" I can live with that but since Im not gonna be in the middle east anytime soon Id rather not have a tan/brown one. |

OK, let me get this straight...they're selling the idea of a no mag red dot on top of their scope that has an illuminated dot in the reticle that can instantly go between 1x and 4x? I thought the entire purpose of this scope was to have that capability in one package? This seems redundant, like mounting two Docs on a TA01. Marketing gimmick, or does the 1x on the DR just not work as well as intended? Am I missing the boat on this? |
IIRC, it was to satisfy a SOCOM requirement that ALL scopes considered for SOCOM have MRD (min red dot) capability. the exciting part of that is that SOCOM is working with industry to 'toughen up' the current MRD's. |
And it's all becoming clearer now. |

There is a lot of talk on the DR. What we are told it will look like my change by the time they start shipping. This was one of the last Prototypes before they went into production. It looks the same as the production run but there are slight differences. In the production run reticle is thinner, the Elevation has clicks, and some slight cosmetic looks.
