Why would you care that the gas block is outside of the rail? Perhaps just a little bit of OCD. Half an inch longer and it would look like I did it on purpose; half an inch shorter and it would be inside the rail. Plus, I'm not crazy about the finish on the Rainier Arms barrel. There's part of me that wants to use this barrel on a different build and replace it with a mid-length one (possibly a 16" AR15 Performance 6.8 SPCII Scout Profile.) |

I am ignorant in all this SCR stuff. How did you attach the stock to the lower? Quoted:
I am ignorant in all this SCR stuff. How did you attach the stock to the lower? The rear of the SCR lower is, in essence, a Remington 1100 shotgun:
There are a few minor differences (some noted in my first post), but fitting an 1100 stock doesn't take too much work. Quoted:
Stolen image, I like the fore end, but your english cut stock has a bit more appeal. http://i.imgur.com/fc7x9Wy.jpg Boyds offering is nice too. http://i66.tinypic.com/1264f8j.jpg I prefer the first one and may do something similar. Likely, I'll just buy/make wood M-Lock covers that match the stock. Subtle, as opposed to full-on wood. |

Swapped out the 11.75" for a 15" (more on this below) and added Meggido natural (wood grain) M-Lok covers::
Color on panels is closer than it appears in the pic above. It's more like (taken with flash on):
And, of course, the Glory shot of my MusketAR::
Black Sheep Warrior was awesome to deal with. In a big order, one small piece was switched, so he immediately sent me a replacement PLUS several other pieces to play with staining/coloring to get an even better match (haven't yet.) Great guy! I'm thinking about selling the 15" 2A SR and picking up a 13" rail with 7 M-Lok slots from someone else (Troy makes one, but I want to see who else does.) That way, I can use the long cover between two of 1 1/2 slot covers that actually curve around the one next to it (like the front-most one.) It's actually part of a kit meant for hand stops, but I like the way it looks here. Note: the Inforce WML is a temporary install on Pic-rail piece. If I keep a light on this long-term, I'll switch to a small one that rides on the upper 45. |
