Posted this on the OPTICS forum, but thought I might get more responses here.
Looking for an entry level scope to see if I like scopes in general. Objective is 75-200 yard target shooting with my 20" Del-Ton upper/M&P15 lower rifle. Yes, I know 'Buy once, cry once", but I'd rather not break the bank until I see if scopes are what I'm looking for. I've narrowed the field to the following three, and all can be had in the $175-$225 range: Nikon Team Primos 3-9x40 Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 If you were choosing among these three scopes, which one would you choose. Thanks for your feedback. |

Since I have a Bushnell Elite 3200, I'm gonna sell ya that one |
| I have a nikon buckmaster sitting on my PSS, and I have always been very pleased. I would expect nothing less from such a well known company. While it is not QUITE leupold bright I find the hardware and features to suit my needs. I consider it good/helpful to have turrets that once the caps are removed can be adjusted without tools. Cleaning etc. wont change your zero but it is readily changed for bench shooting or sighting in. |

I'm partial to Burris Fullfield, however I think you're buying to much scope for a 200 Yard Rifle. 4x is plenty and in fact I like 2-3X for an AR because I like a large field of view. That's why I just purchased a 2.5X Sightron Scope for my Flattop with Burris Ultra High Rings. If you had a varmint rig with a $500 stainless Noveske or Walther Lothar Barrel than great put a 2.5X10 Burris on it , but for a mill spec AR you hardly need more than a 4X scope. I would try to stay below $200.00-$225.00 for scope and rings. |
