Just put one on order and will have it in a week...

Looks like a good option and it sits higher so I shouldn't need a mount for lower third cowitness... but we will see. I also like the buttons on the side rather than the back and it runs on AA's. Unsure as to how useful the BDC will be though... don't plan on using a magnifier.

Anyone have one?

When I first got my 557, I'm not going to lie, I was a little dissapointed with the BDC reticle.  When the brightness is what I consider normal, the dots look like they are all connected to form a post.  When I lowered the brightness the single dots were a little bit more defined, but still blurry.

I ordered the 3X fixed base magnifier and it cleared everything up.

By itself I dont think it is any more effective than a non-BDC because I can only use the top dot anyway.

Btw, I like the buttons on the side rather than on the back too, they make all the operations so much easier.

Very close to my thoughts.  The reticle is too busy unless it's going to be used with a magnifier all the time.  If thats the case, there are better options.  I think you like it but I find the 512/552 and a LaRue mount better for my needs.

Well that sucks... the one I looked at at a funshow seemed to have the dots pretty clear... may have to return it as I don't have need for magnification on this build...
