OK,  I have an EoTech 512 attached to my Stag upper M4gery.  I shot a bunch of rounds through it and have successfully f'ed it up so much that the shots are going all over the place.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to zero out an EoTech so that I can start over and give it another shot?

Thanks.

Can you shoot at 25 yards so all your rounds land in a circle 1.5" in diameter?

(doesn't matter where the group is on paper - just so long as all the rounds fired are in a circle that small).

Haven't tried.  Got frustrated after and then calculated how much money I shot up and left.

If I can get to that point, what should I do next?

Once you get to that point, then you can start to zero the sight.

I'm assuming the sight is firmly attached to the rifle.

Once you get a 5 shot group that small then you need to make your adjustments.

First ajdust for elevation according to the instructions. IIRC it should be 1 click per 1/8" of movement at 25 yards for an EOTech.  Fire a group to confirm the elevation is correct.

make more adjustments if needed - fire another group to verify.

Then make the changes in windage.  Again it should be 1/8" per click at 25 yards.

IMHO you should be setting it up so the bullets impact about 1"-1.25" BELOW your point of aim at 25 yards.  That will put you pretty much dead on at 50y.

Once you get it on target - then move the paper to 50y to confirm it's dead on at 50.  If not (and odds are you'll be a bit off) then adjust as needed and fire another group to confirm.  Note at 50y your shot group will be roughly twice the size it was at 25y.

Check for looseness: barrel to upper, sight to upper...

If you have BUIS you can get a rough zero: looking thru the BUIS adjust the EoThing until the center dot is just even with the top of the front sight and centered. Conform at the range but that should get you within 3" at 50 yards. BSW

Very good advice on the BUIS. The EOTech should cowitness with your BUIS. Although if your BUIS is sighted in at a ranger other than 50 yds, you will need to adjust the EOTech for 50 yds (at least the manual says 50 yards). If you want to start over, you can try to recenter the EOTech to the mechanical zero. I think it goes 60 clics in all directions (you can search for this). I did this at one time. I turned all the way to one side and counted the clics backwards until it was at zero again. Then I sighted it in. My EOTech was not tht far off from zero, though.
