I've been running a 552 mounted on the receiver (pushed forwards to overhang the barrel nut) with a fixed rear and it's been working well. Just aquired an upper with a RAS-II and I'd like to fit an Eo but there just isn't room! Mounted on the receiver it's just too close to me and there's no room for the BUIS. Mounted up front the window is too small. Mounting on the hump blocks the sights. Any thoughts? Or do I just need to go buy a 551? (although, I think I'd rather go buy a Samson FF and stick with AA cells) |
I had this same question and posed to to the brass at Knights Armament. Colonel Dave Lutz personally emailed me back with a picture showing that the 552 is not able to fit on the RASII rail as the 552 is too long and wont clamp properly. I went Aimpoint and never had to look back as it was designed for it- thus the Aimpoint hump built in. Hope that helps. |
