Checking in to see if anyone else has had this issue.

I have an EoTech 512, revision F, that I bought new in the spring of 2005. No problems at all over the years and a couple of thousand rounds through the Bushmaster .223 M4-clone it has been mounted on. I hadn't touched it in a couple of months until this past Thursday. I got it out, put in a new set of batteries right from the wrapper and headed to the range.

At the range, the EoTech fired up without issue. I fired 40 rounds of .223, then turned it off while I switched to the .22lr conversion kit. Two minutes later, the EoTech wouldn't turn on. Pushed all the buttons, took the batteries out and wiped off the terminals, nothing. I finished the range time with irons and stashed the rifle.

This evening, I get the carbine out for some dry fire. The EoTech worked fine for about thirty minutes, then I turned it off and walked back to the gunsafe. Right before locking it up, I checked it again, and again the EoTech wouldn't turn on. Nothing.

Went out for a run, and about two hours later just out of curiosity I got the rifle out and tried the EoTech. It worked fine the first time, then I turned it off and tried to turn it back on. Nothing.

What next?

Try replacing the batteries again. It could be that they were a bad set. What kind were they? How did you store them after purchase?

Is where you shoot very cold? If it's super cold, batteries can have a hard time giving out the juice depending on what kind they are. If they're quality brand new lithium batteries, I'm not sure how to advise you.

Try good lithium's.  If that doesn't do it send it to Eotech. For $65 or so & shipping there they will upgrade the innards to current specs.
