Just picked up a used Eotech 502 Rev A - N Batteries, Diamond reticle only. Scope appears in very good condition - Other than the extra housing, reticle and battery options, what , if any, are the main differences vs the 512 series (excluding NV) Use limited to the range, Action (IPSC) competitions and, perhaps, 3 gun. Paid $175 - Decent price or overpaid? For mounting on my RRA carb with removable handle, considering the RRA Dominator mount or Arms 40. TIA Docgary |

The 512 uses AA batteries which have a much longer life over the N versions, especially if you use Lithium AAs. In addition, the 512 was first released (I think) during the E revisions which had even more battery life than previous revisions. $175 sounds like a decent price. |

Thanks for the replies.....pretty much my assessment as well. Are co-witnessing iron sights important in range competition? If so, any reason not to utilize Arms 40 or GGG FLURS? It seem that for the price, the RRA Dominator mount is overkill for my needs-- agreed? |
When the timer beeps to start the stage and you realize that the sight isn't turned on, you'll either be thankful you have the irons cowitnessed so you could complete the stage or you'll pissed that you blew the stage by taking so long fumbling around with the sights. The choice is yours. |

I've got a new 512 AA as of today and it was awesome to shoot with. I think you got a good deal on your sight tho... I have an ARMS 40 with a YHM flip up in the front and have them co-witnessed. Its a nice setup. I don't think you need the flipup on the front but its a nice feature for going optic-only. |
where did you find the 502 ? |
I ordered it from C4iGrant right here on the board - he was clearing some out a while back. |
