I have a Eotech 552 sight.  The sight is brand new without much use on the range.  When the sight is turned on, and the center reticle is viewed, there is a bleed-over of light right next to the reticle.  It looks like a half reticle next the the full reticle in the center.  I have cleaned the lense to make sure there isn't any smudges.  The only time the half reticle disappears is when you reduce the light intensity.  Any ideas?

It's prob just too bright.  If you use too bright a setting, it will look blurry.  Use it on a reduced setting.

Use the down button and it will start at a lower setting, see if that helps. If not send it back to EOTech.

Edit: Sorry I forgot, the 551/552 models do not have that function.

Turn down the brightness and focus on the target and not the reticle.

I've got the same kind of image with my 552. I called Eotech and that is the way all of the Rev. E's & F's are if they are too bright. I thought there was a problem because a Bushnell Holosight I had didn't have those dual images, but the rep. said that the upgraded electronics that allow for brighter images in the newer versions have the ghost images. I got used to turing it down to the correct brightness and it hasn't been a problem.
