So I recently found that my Eotech 552 is dead. I opened it up to change the batteries and found some very slight leakage. I cleaned it up with a 50/50 water vinegar mix. In the battery compartment There is one rubber gasket with a spring and on the other side just a flat metal plate. Somehow I remember there should be two rubber gaskets with springs on each side of the battery compartment but I could be wrong. The two contacts on the eotech itself have been cleaned up and push in and spring back out just fine. I checked Eotechs repair and followed some of the directions but no luck. Are there any tricks or things I can try, or is it a "send back to eotech" type of issue.

try cleaning the contacts with some fine sandpaper as sometimes corrosion builds up when the acid hits the metal preventing contact.  Could also try some dielectric compound on them as well.
