The most recent ones that I've owned (I think 2014 and 2015 manufacture, respectively) had anodized hoods and the plastic was molded in whatever color they were.
I scratched the shit out of the battery compartment area of my tan EXPS3 and it was still all tan (no black polymer underneath). |
