Second time at the range with an Eotech XPS2-0, first trip it ran flawlessly, zeroed in nice, and ran like a champ 200 rnds.  Today I was shooting without the Eotech on for a bit to practice with the BUIS, at about maybe 50 rnds I turned the XPS on.  Fired one shot and it turned off by its self.  Tried to turn it back on, no good.  Shot about 15 more rounds, hit the on button again and it lit up.  Proceeded to shoot again with it on, when I got to the 5th round, it shut off again by its self.  Anyone have this type of malfunction before?

The EOTechs do then when the batteries are pretty much dead.

Are they new batteries? How long have they been in the sight?

Are they alkaline?

If you are using rechargeables, many rechargfables do not hold a charge very long.

Batteries would be my first place to look!  Run CR123 lithiums if you aren't already!

I dont run that model Eotech, but my 512 does exactly what yours did when the batteries are going bad.
