Got my new 552 today and have a question.  There seems to be a slight "bloom" with both the circle and inner dot.  Is this normal?  It looks like it's made up of many tiny dots which each have the "bloom" effect.  The pics I've seen made it look much crisper.  This is a brand new rev F so I wanna make sure I get what I paid for at the $400 price tag.

if it's blooming just adjust the brightness

The 'tinsel effect' is more noticeable when:

1) The brightness is turned up too high for the conditions.
2) Indoors (see #1).
3) Focusing on the reticle instead of target.  It takes a little mental adjustment to focus on the target if you're used to iron sights.

I've noticed the same thing.  As they said above, adjust the brightness down a bit.

It's a normal effect, I thought the same with both of my 512's, but I was looking through them indoors. Adjust the brightness.
