Awhile back I picked up an Eotech clone for my first AR ( I know ...). I recently found it and threw it on my .22 AR, but when in sunlight, you can't hardly make out the reticle. Is this because it's just cheap? Can you see the reticle real good on the real deal ? I like the way it looks and points, I just don't wanna up 400+ for a sight for my .22.

I've used an Eo for a total of 5yrs in "the" desert...or maybe I should say deserts (Iraq+Afghanistan) and the reticle/dot are fine.

Aimpoint...not so much...dot is pretty tiny and washes out plus you're still looking thru a tube IMO.

There are no EOTech "clones".  Just junk red dots that resemble EOTechs.  Real EOTechs use a laser to project a hologram on the viewing window.  They are very bright when you crank up the brightness.

You might want to look at the Vortex Strikefire; decent red dot for ~$130.

Don't be cloning the holographic weapon sights!

Not good.

the primary arms M4 clone  is also a good deal and has held zero on my AR for well over a thousand rounds.

I have 2 of those. I like them but don't want 6 of them on all my AR's.

Thanks for the advice guys. I will be on the lookout for one me thinks.

My eotech is more bright enough in sunlight even when not on the highest brightness setting.

I don't have any trouble seeing my 557 in direct sunlight even with a bright background.  I don't know if it would apply to the whole line or not.  Good luck.

How new are the batteries first? Second have your turned up the brightness . I have an EOTech and only had a problem with cheap alkaline batteries , put lithium in it and it is all good. I would swap batteries and check that you can up the brightness.
