Just picked up another Eotech this one is second hand.
Is it important to return it to mechanical zero before sighting it in? Can I just shoot and make adjustments from the down range feedback? |

You can, but it would probably save you some time (and ammo and money) to center the adjustments before you start. Or, you can borrow a boresight from a buddy and get fairly close. When I start from center, it's a good way to make sure that everything else is aligned correctly. Once centered, I shouldn't be making major adjustments to sight in. At least that has been my experience. Mark H. |

Yeah. That's what I do. Just make it short like 20 or 25 yards to get it on paper & then move further out to dial it in. It was on paper off the bat. I just made adjustments till I was at center. Except I did one notch at a time because I didn't know how much the increments were for at 25 yards. (should of checked before hand) Long story short it took longer than it should have.
Last Eotech I zeroed was at 50 yards from mechanical zero. This time it was at 25 yards as it was the nearest range to me. |
