| How can you tell if your eotech is new enough to have the revision f? What exactly is revision f? |
![]() Model number denotes what batteries an EOTech uses. Revision F is designated by a small "F" on the left side. Bottom right of the protective hood. Edit: Forgot to add... Revision "F" is the most recent version. Improved battery life, reticule brightness, mount stability, etc. |

Revision F indicates the newer control panel. Prior to the "buttons" on the revision F, the control panel han a surface like...the buttons on your microwave. A nice smoothed over feel, easier to clean, but didn't hold up very well as the new system does. The revision indication has nothing to do with the battery type. |
WTF? You just posted model numbers. Those specific models designated by the model number use AA batteries. Others like the 511 and 551 use 'N' batteries. The 553 uses CR123A batteries. As stated by another poster, revision has NOTHING to do with battery type. |

511 = N batteries 512 = AA batteries 551 = N batteries with Night Vision (button in middle switches LED very low to the correct level for NV goggles) 552 = AA batteries with Night Vision F is latest, with black rubber buttons. Previously a plastic film button. .65 denotes the most popular reticle. It is a circle with 1 mil dot in the middle. |
