I bought 2 of them last year. They are to spec. I biult a very relaible, inepxensive shooter with it and a Del-Ton upper. I'm very pleased with the resluts. The finish isn't as robust as other, more expensive builds(it's starting to get a little shiny where I rest my trigger finger by the mag release). But hey,for 80 bucks I'll buy a few more!

edit to add: And everything fits perfectly. I thought I had a problem with mine, turns out it was the detent pin that was defective(for my rear take-down pin).

Hey fanatic. Your probabely new to this hole game, just like me ? I spent some time talking with a few here and found out a few things about lowers. Essential arms and Superior Arms have great receivers, except they don't put the "finish" work into theirs like the higher priced ones do. Specifically grinding down the cast marks in the trigger reccess and they don't completely finish the front of the mag well. I got a chance today to see that they all functioned, pretty much the same today. The local dealer had EE, SA, DPMS, RRA, Colt, Bushy, and a couple others and he let me test GI, Thermold, an off brand, and a Mapul mag in all of them, They worked flawlessly and all finishes were close in quality to each other, only difference was the lengths they went to, to "polish" the final product. So, if you can live with a few casting marks or your on a strict budget go for EE or SA. I would however, do as I did and be able to "lay hands on" the product before purchase. I know I have seen many down grade several companies, but hay, were all human and eventually something is gonna get FU-Barred ! Its just if it keeps being a pattern, then we should all stray from their products.

The newer Essentials have smaller/normal type for the "Fire & Safe" now from the pics I've seen posted.

I just got one last week. Nothing wrong with it. All the parts fit perfectly. The "fire" and "safe" are small like a Colt or FN.

What I like about it most is that it doesn't have an animal engraved on it.
